We were asked to transform a soulless, stark and corporate space into a stylish, welcoming headteachers office that would sit at the heart of City Centre Junior School.
To make a real impact, we opted for a deep red Marmoleum floor which would be hardwearing but also add vibrancy to the space. Paired with this, we chose a muted dusky pink to saturate the walls and ceiling.
Being a fairly small room with multiple uses, we needed to cleverly zone the space to serve different functions. Removing the connecting door into the reception turned the unused space into a relaxed seating area, perfect for informal meetings.
When designing the layout of the room we were keen to include a communal meeting table and space for students to work, the wall behind features a cluster of beautiful artworks by the students that we selected from the school art room and framed.
